For Google, ads are usually approved within 1 business day. The review process begins automatically after you create your ad, in which Google will ensure that your ad copy and keywords are in accordance to their policies.
If your ad is not approved, Spatially will contact you via email. On the Spatially dashboard, you will learn the reason why your ad has been rejected and you can make the necessary changes to make it compliant with Google's guidelines.

Facebook ads also go through a reviewing process to ensure your ad meets Facebook's advertising policies. Typically most ads are reviewed within 24 hours, although in some cases it may take longer.
Facebook cites three main reasons why most ads are rejected:
- Too much text in an image - text should not cover more than 20% of your featured image.
- Age-restricted material
- Mentioning Facebook in your ad copy - although using the term 'Facebook' is allowed, there are rules on how to use it in your ad.
